Italy's cross-country World Cup squad is heading to Feltre, in the province of Belluno. On Tuesday morning the Italian winter sports federation FISI named 14 athletes for a training block built around the Grand Prix Sportful roller-ski event. According to Fondoitalia, the group will be in Feltre from Wednesday, September 30, to Sunday, October 4.

The usual autumn roller-ski fixture

Fondoitalia calls the Grand Prix Sportful the usual autumn fixture on the cross-country calendar. Targatocn describes Feltre as its customary venue. For the Italians, the event is about more than racing: Fondoitalia calls it an important training opportunity for the national team. Targatocn likewise writes that the test in Feltre gives the squad a training period.

Fondoitalia frames the Grand Prix Sportful as a further test on the road to the winter season. The athletes are expected to use their days in Feltre for competition and to continue their preparation. Neither report gives race days, disciplines or start times.

FISI's selection

The federation named these 14 athletes (all ITA):

  • Simone Mocellini
  • Elia Barp
  • Davide Graz
  • Martino Carollo
  • Gabriele Matli
  • Simone Daprà
  • Davide Ghio
  • Caterina Ganz
  • Nicole Monsorno
  • Maria Gismondi
  • Iris De Martin Pinter
  • Virginia Cena
  • Federica Cassol
  • Nadine Laurent

Fondoitalia and Targatocn list the same 14 names. Both include Federica Cassol in the squad. Targatocn's headline picks out Martino Carollo and Davide Ghio.

The spelling of Ronc Cella's first name differs between the reports: Fondoitalia writes "François" with a cedilla, while Targatocn writes "Francois".

The squad's stay in Feltre begins on Wednesday, September 30, and runs until Sunday, October 4.
