Anna Twardosz has made Polish ski jumping history. On Saturday, 19 September 2026, the 25-year-old won the women's individual Summer Grand Prix competition in Rasnov, Romania, becoming the first Polish woman ever to win an event in the series. She jumped 96 and 90 metres for a total of 256.1 points.

A 19.1-point winning margin

According to WP SportoweFakty, Twardosz had already topped both training rounds. In the first competition round on the normal hill, listed at 97 metres, she reached 96 metres. At the halfway stage Japan's Ringo Miyajima was second, 9.4 points behind, with China's Ping Zeng third, 10.5 points adrift.

A 90-metre jump in the final round stretched Twardosz's lead over Miyajima to 19.1 points. Miyajima finished second on 237.0 points after jumps of 91.5 and 88 metres, while China's Bing Dong took third with 92 and 89.5 metres and 233.2 points. It was Twardosz's third Grand Prix podium and the first for both Miyajima and Dong. The sources differ on the time of day: skispringen.com describes the win as coming on Saturday evening, while WP SportoweFakty refers to an afternoon competition.

Thirty-seven names appeared on the start list, and WP SportoweFakty reported that most of the leading jumpers opted to skip Romania. Slovenia's Ema Klinec, considered the favourite, finished fourth and now leads the overall standings. Zeng slipped to fifth, still her best Grand Prix result.

Records for Slovakia and Austria's trio

Kira Maria Kapustikova placed sixth with 91 and 89 metres and 231.1 points, the best result ever achieved by a Slovak female ski jumper. Austria's Hannah Wiegele and Grand Prix debutante Sara Pokorny finished seventh and eighth, both career bests, with Chiara Kreuzer twelfth. Japan's Yuzuki Sato was ninth and China's Liangyao Wang tenth, her best career result.

Juliane Seyfarth was seventh after the first round but managed only 79.5 metres in difficult conditions in the final and dropped to 14th, still the best German. Emely Torazza scored points for the first time in 27th. Luisa Görlich, a team world champion at Planica 2023, made her competitive comeback more than a year and a half after tearing her cruciate ligament at the World Championships in Trondheim; her 83.5 metres put her 32nd. Germany's Alvine Holz (84 m, 31st) and Kim Amy Duschek (79.5 m, 35th) also missed the final round.

France's Marie Thomas Couturaud (21st) and Capucine Mesnil (29st) both recorded career bests, with Mesnil securing lifetime World Cup start rights. Finland's only entrant, Oosa Thure, was 23rd, also a career best. Slovenia's Lucija Jurgec and Taja Terbovsek finished 15th and 18th on their Grand Prix debuts.

Qi Liu stretchered off

The competition was overshadowed by a fall for China's Qi Liu. After a 98.5-metre jump, her right knee gave way on landing, skispringen.com reported. She was carried off on a stretcher and could not take part in the final round; the German site described the injury as presumably serious.

A second individual competition in Rasnov is scheduled for Sunday, with the trial round at 8:30 and the first round at 10:00.
