Luisa Görlich is set to compete internationally again. The 27-year-old is part of the German Ski Association's five-woman squad for the women's Summer Grand Prix in Rasnov, Romania. Women's head coach Heinz Kuttin has also named Kim Amy Duschek, Alvine Holz, Juliane Seyfarth and Emely Torazza. Individual competitions on the normal hill are scheduled for Saturday, 19 September, and Sunday, 20 September.
Back after a third ACL tear
At the 2025 Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim, Görlich collapsed on landing during normal hill qualification and tore the cruciate ligament in her right knee once more. According to skispringen.com, it was the third ACL tear of her career, following serious knee injuries in 2018 and 2024. A few weeks before those championships, she had made her World Cup comeback from the previous tear and qualified for the event.
"Ich freue mich, dass ich nach eineinhalb Jahren wieder im Wettkampfgeschehen dabei sein darf. Ich bin sehr gespannt, wie das sein wird" ("I'm happy to be allowed back in competition after a year and a half. I'm very curious to see what it will be like"), Görlich said.
She has never jumped on the Rasnov hill in summer. She says she thinks she is well prepared, wants to take everything as it comes and enjoy jumping, and will then see what comes of it.
Kuttin wants training form to carry over
Before travelling to Romania, the team spent two days jumping at Bergisel in Innsbruck. Kuttin explained that the squad had also used the stop to start preparing for the Four Hills Tournament, getting to know the rhythm, the radius and the wind conditions there.
His target for Rasnov is a good performance that carries the training results into competition. According to Kuttin, the women's field is somewhat in flux right now, but the Grand Prix events so far have been "sehr stark besetzt" (very strongly contested). He said the team wants to make a good impression there.

Men head to Stams instead
Germany's men will not compete in Rasnov. Citing the DSV statement, Fondoitalia reported that new head coach Andreas Mitter is putting winter preparation first. According to that report, Mitter said the team is in the middle of its winter preparation and is skipping Rasnov because of the current heavy training load and how that load is being managed. He added that this had been planned from the start and that the preparation for the season is going well.
The men are instead focusing on the Continental Cup in Stams, where, according to Fondoitalia, six second-tier jumpers will compete: Ben Bayer, Lasse Deimel, Max Unglaube, Luca Roth, Constantin Schmid and Timon Pascal Kahofer.
