Italy have named their ski jumpers for the next two stops of the summer. Giovanni Bresadola leads the team heading to Rasnov in Romania for the Summer Grand Prix. Before that, four Italian women compete in the Intercontinental Cup this weekend in Einsiedeln, Switzerland. Fondo Italia and NeveItalia both reported the selections on 11 September.

Four women for Einsiedeln

An Intercontinental Cup event is scheduled in Einsiedeln on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September. Italy will be represented by:

  • Noelia Vuerich
  • Martina Ambrosi
  • Leonie Runggaldier
  • Jessica Malsiner

Coach Romed Moroder will travel with the group. NeveItalia describes the athletes as members of the World Cup squads. The outlet also notes that the summer ski jumping season is coming to an end, with the winter season starting in just over two months.

Grand Prix squad and conflicting dates

For Rasnov, Italy have picked two men, Giovanni Bresadola and Francesco Cecon, and two women, Martina Zanitzer and Jessica Malsiner. That puts Malsiner in both squads, which NeveItalia calls a "doppio impegno", a double assignment.

The reports give different dates for the Romanian event. Fondo Italia says the third stop of the Summer Grand Prix will be held on 19 and 20 September. NeveItalia puts it between 17 and 21 September. According to Fondo Italia, the programme consists of two individual normal hill competitions. NeveItalia describes the venue as Rasnov's small hill.

The team in Romania will be coached by Harald Rodlauer, Theresia Koren, Sebastian Colloredo and Zeno di Lenardo.

Stams stopover for Bresadola

Bresadola will not travel to Romania directly. He will first spend a day training on the hill in Stams, Austria, together with Alex Insam and technical director Ivo Pertile. Neither report gives a date for the session. He will then join Cecon, Zanitzer and Malsiner for the two individual competitions in Rasnov.
