Anna Odine Strøm has etched her name into the history books as the first woman ever to win two individual Olympic gold medals in ski jumping.
The Norwegian athlete achieved this remarkable milestone at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, cementing her status as one of the sport's all-time greats. Strøm's historic achievement comes just over a decade after women were first allowed to compete in Olympic ski jumping. The sport's relatively short Olympic history for women makes her accomplishment even more significant, as she becomes the first to claim multiple individual golds in a field that continues to grow in competitiveness and depth.
Norwegian Dominance in Women's Ski Jumping
Norway has established itself as a powerhouse in women's ski jumping, and Strøm's performance in Italy reinforces that dominance. Her ability to perform under the intense pressure of Olympic competition, not once but twice, demonstrates the mental fortitude and technical excellence required at the highest level of the sport.
The 26-year-old's success in Milano Cortina follows years of consistent performances on the World Cup circuit, where she has been a regular podium contender. Her Olympic breakthrough represents the culmination of dedication to a sport that has seen rapid development in recent years.
