Triple Olympic champion Jens Luraas Oftebro built his advantage during the ski jumping phase and never relinquished it over the 10-kilometre roller-ski pursuit. He crossed the line more than a minute clear of his younger brother Einar Luraas Oftebro, who held off Austrian Stefan Rettenegger for second place. The sibling one-two was the defining image of the weekend in Bischofshofen, Austria — the venue's first hosting of the Summer Grand Prix in 19 years.
The French squad, which had entered without Léna Brocard and Mattéo Baud, finished well off the pace. The result underlines Norway's early pre-season dominance as the 2026-27 World Cup calendar takes shape.
Hagen Hunts Down Brabec
In the women's Gundersen, American Alexa Brabec carried the lead from the jumping phase into the 5-kilometre roller-ski pursuit — as she had done in Friday's reserve jump event, which she won outright. Ida Marie Hagen, starting behind her, reeled in the American and pulled clear to win by more than 50 seconds. Katharina Gruber of Austria completed the podium in third.
Brabec, who has been one of the standout performers of the summer series, remains a threat on form, but Hagen's cross-country strength proved decisive once the pursuit began. France's Romane Baud, 16th, was the best of the French women on a difficult weekend for the squad.
Norwegian Depth on Show
The results confirm that Norway's depth in Nordic combined extends well beyond its headline names. With Johannes Lamparter of Austria absent from the Bischofshofen field, the Oftebro brothers faced limited opposition from the host nation's reserves — Stefan Rettenegger's bronze was the best Austria could manage in the men's event. The Norwegian federation will also note that Hagen's dominance in the women's field continues a run that stretches back through last winter's World Cup season.
Bischofshofen is the opening round of the 2026 Summer Grand Prix in Nordic combined. The series continues with three events in a single week, with the Oberstdorf Grand Prix next on the schedule before the tour concludes at Chaux-Neuve. Norway, however, has confirmed it will not send athletes to the Chaux-Neuve stage. Sunday's individual compact rounds close out the Austrian weekend, with both men's and women's events still to be decided on the Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze.
