## Home Triumph for Austrian Ace
In front of a passionate home crowd in Schladming, Austria's Marco Schwarz produced a brilliant second run to win the men's World Cup slalom event. The 27-year-old overcame a first-run deficit to edge out compatriot Manuel Feller and France's Clement Noel for a superb victory.
Schwarz trailed Feller by 0.44 seconds after the opening leg, but he laid down a stunning final run of 50.26 seconds to snatch the win with a total time of 1:41.23. Feller had to settle for silver, 0.44 seconds back, while Noel claimed bronze, a further 0.22 adrift.
It was a triumphant day for the Austrian team, with two of their skiers finishing on the podium in front of passionate fans in Schladming. Schwarz's victory marked his fourth World Cup slalom win of the season, cementing his status as one of the discipline's leading lights.
